South Korean tech giant Samsung  is planning to launch its mobile payment wallet in India in the first half of 2017. Cashing on India's digital journey, the technology giant Samsung is all set to launch Samsung Pay App in India. Since last few days Samsung Galaxy Note 5  units in India started getting  an update that - among other things - brought along the Samsung Pay app. Now, the company has started pushing out a similar update to Galaxy A -7  units in India. According to reports, Samsung will be partnering with American Express (Amex) to bring its mobile payment solution to India.  The company is also exploring the possibility of partnering with two global financial services companies, Visa and MasterCard.  Samsung has previously partnered with these companies for its e-payment solutions in other regions such as with Amex in countries including the United States, Australia and South Korea. Nokia is all set for its device launches at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. HMD Global flagged off its Nokia Android phone lineup this year with the Nokia 6 mid-range smartphone. The company is now largely expected to launch the Nokia P1 smartphone at its event Mobile World Congress 2017. This is said to be a flagship device, and has been extensively tipped running up to the rumoured launch date. As per the video, the phone comes with a metal frame and glass on both the sides without bezels. It is said to have a Carl Zeiss lens-inbuilt camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB Type-C charging port and dual stereo speakers. Oppo A57 comes with a 16MP front camera just like the Oppo F1s, and just been launched in India. Oppo has launched A57, its latest selfie-centric smartphone in India on Tuesday at Rs. 14,990.  It will be available in all leading offline retail and online stores like Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Amazon India starting February 3 in Gold colour variant, and is priced at Rs. 14,990. The mid-ranged  Oppo A57's highlight is the 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and 1.12 micron pixel size. The front camera supports company's Beautify 4.0 mode with seven different beautify levels, along with support for 1080p video recording. With the Budget 2017-18 bringing in a Special Additional Duty (SAD) of two per cent on PCBs or Printed Circuit Boards used in the manufacture of mobile phones, the prices of cellphones are likely to increase. In a bid to push local manufacturing in the country, the government in its budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year has proposed a two percent special additional duty on import of PCBs, the key components of the mobile phones. The government is aiming at companies locally manufacturing the PCBs and provide “adequate protection to domestic industry.” Though the move is likely to result in a marginal increase in the price of handsets, as these components are mostly imported. It is worth noting that PCBs alone contribute to 25-30 percent of the cost of the smartphones. At this moment, it is not certain how the levied duty on PCBs will affect prices of mobile phones in the country.
